This original 1880s house, located on Jacob Street between Ellet and Bergman Streets, was photographed in 1994 on my first quick visit to Brainerd. I pulled out this photo again and again on the rest of my cross-country trek, wondering if, perhaps, this was the home in which my Grandmother lived (it wasn't) and what stories it could tell (many, but I never got a chance to ask).
