The second Brainerd schoolhouse opened in 1929 immediately southeast of the original stone schoolhouse. Constructed of brick, on a two-story plan, the new schoolhouse was used for classes through the 1964-65 school year.

After the school shut its doors, the building was converted to a private residence. In this 1999 photo, you can see the site of the first schoolhouse to the left of the scene, where a pole used for tetherball games still stands.
